A “First” Creation?

Those who have carefully read the accounts of creation in the Book of Genesis would have observed that there are two accounts of creation given.

We recall our discussion about “God Is a Spirit” in “Letter Of The Law“, wherein we touched upon what might be called a Holy-Spiritual Nature or Aspect of God.

It is self-evident that that which is first created must be closest to the Creator, and therefore would most closely correspond to such a Holy-Spiritual Nature of the Creator.

This First Creation must therefore be a Spiritual Creation, which we may call the “heavens”.

A “Second” Creation?

Because of its greater similarity to the Nature of the Creator (to the limited extent that we can speak of “similarity” between that which is created and the Creator), the Spiritual Creation bears life and power within itself.

This life and power contains further creative potential, which brings about the material creation.

The material has no inherent life or power: it is merely “dust”. The actual life is in the non-material:

It is the spirit that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing:
— John 6:63

There is nothing from without a man,
that entering into him can defile him:
but the things which come out of him,
those are they that defile the man.

— Mark 7:14-16

The material things which enter a man’s body have no direct impact on his immortal spirit, but the things that emanate from him, from his spirit, are living and they will have spiritual effects.

For example, when a man becomes addicted to alcohol the primary problem is not alcohol but his will, his volition. His will led him to alcohol and initiated the process of addiction. It is only his will that can reverse it.

The seed of every visible invention is an invisible idea. An audible word is powered by an invisible thought. And so on. The material is a manifestation of the non-material.

Two Creations ?

So: Creation first manifested spiritually, after which the Spiritual Creation gave rise to this material universe.

In other words, there is a transition from the Creator to the spiritual world (the “heavens”), and then to the material world i.e. there are two “steps” of creating

“Spiritual” and “material” are simple terms referring to unimaginably vast seen (visible) and unseen (invisible) realities:

In my Father’s house are many mansions

— John 14:2

Spiritual Law, Material Law

Since Creation developed according to the Laws of Creation from the beginning (ref. “Letter Of The Law“), the Laws of Creation must themselves be living and of a nature closely similar to that of the Creator (ref. “The Nature of God’s Laws“).

Since the material world bears the “DNA” of the spiritual world, the physical laws that scientists discover (e.g. gravity, thermodynamics, time-minimization, etc.) must be material manifestations of certain Divine Laws.

With spiritual maturity we will reformulate these discoveries in the context of the Laws of Creation.  Scientists and entrepreneurs will thus work as servants of God.

Human Creations

The two-step creation process is repeated with human beings, albeit in a greatly stepped-down manner, because we are of a spiritual origin.

We sow non-material seed through our will, thoughts, and words. The Laws of Creation (ref. “The Nature of God’s Laws“) automatically nurture and develop these invisible “creations” to maturity and material manifestation, with or without our knowledge:

So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
And should sleep, and rise night and day,
and the seed should spring and grow up,
he knoweth not how.

— Mark 4: 26-27

We are “free” to sow any type of seed into Creation but not free to choose the resulting fruit i.e. God’s Laws are not mocked.

We are “mini-creators”. We determine (will), think, and speak countless times every day, and thus build our spiritual empires.  Failure to align these activities with The Word will lead to our downfall, here or hereafter, since we shall reap what we sowed.

Today’s Resolution

  • We shall strive to keep our thoughts loving and pure, so that our thoughts, words, and actions will align with The Word.
