So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
— KJV, Mark 4: 26-27
And should sleep, and rise night and day,
and the seed should spring and grow up,
he knoweth not how.
The real life is the inner life; the visible world is a veil, a covering…

As discussed in Part 1, we sow spiritual seed through our will, thoughts, and words, and the Power of God contained in the Laws of Creation (ref. “The Nature of God’s Laws“) automatically nurtures and develops these “creations” until they mature and manifest materially:
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
— Matt 10:26
The Spiritual Is The Engine
Since the material has no inherent life, i.e. it is merely “dust” (ref Part 1), we must conclude that actual development cannot take place in the material:
It is the spirit that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing:
— John 6:63
The development and evolution of all things actually happens in the spiritual/non-material, and what we observe in the material is only the outer manifestations of the real development:
The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven,
— Matt 13:33
which a woman took,
and hid in three measures of meal,
till the whole was leavened.
The “active ingredient”, the leaven, is the invisible (hidden) spiritual activity.

The Will Is The Spark
“[W]hich a woman took” calls attention to the use of the will (the volition) i.e. decision-making.
So we human beings are able to shape the material world through our God-given spiritual power, which we use every time we make any decisions. This makes us “mini-creators” within the material world.
As Above, So Below
That the spiritual activity is invisible does not mean it is “mysterious”; it can be inferred from its material manifestation. The two must be similar, just as the DNA of a fruit has similarities to the DNA of the tree that bore it.
For example: physicists have observed that every material object influences matter in such a way as to affect other material objects (curvature of spacetime, Newton’s Law of Gravitation, etc.). This tells us that phenomena of attraction and repulsion must be a major feature of spiritual processes.
In the spiritual, there are many “types”. When we observe similar human beings becoming friends, it is not the physical Einsteinian or Newtonian attraction that is in effect, but the deeper magnetism caused by their similar spiritual nature i.e. “birds of a feather flock together”.
Their banding together physically is the material manifestation of a spiritual attraction that was already operating before they met physically without their conscious knowledge. It is an automatic activity powered by the Laws of God.
Leaven has its effect on bread unconsciously, but the human spirit is meant to mature and have a conscious and positive effect on Earth.
As we human beings become more spiritual (i.e. more in sync with The Word), we will consciously make use of these principles in order to fulfill the words “Thy Kingdom Come”.
Today’s Resolution:
- We shall remind ourselves that every decision we make has spiritual consequences, and we shall strive to make those decisions spiritually uplifting.
