Most Christians (and non-Christians who have some interest in Jesus Christ), appear to focus more on the Personality of Christ than on His Message i.e. The Word.
The average person knows more about Christ’s birth and death than about what He actually said, let alone what he meant.
Wearing a T-shirt that says “I love Albert Einstein” does not make one a physicist. Being a physicist involves studying and applying the principles of physics.
Being a follower or student of Christ should involve independently studying and applying the principles of life outlined in The Word.
To the extent that these principles are profound and timeless, they should lead to insights that are powerful and practical, even if counterintuitive.
The goal of this series of essays is to shine light in some small way on the immense depth and scope of Christ’s Word.
It is hoped that the reader will come away with renewed respect for The Word, and with greater zeal for an independent study of It.
