The sin against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven. Is the Holy Spirit then greater than the Father and the Son??
We continue “Ye Must Born Again” with an extension of our “About God” series.
Creation vs The Holy Spirit
Attentive readers of the Bible are aware that the Holy Spirit is responsible for Creation:
And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
— KJV, Genesis 1:2
and:
The Spirit of God hath made me,
and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
— Job 33:4
Creation is a result of God’s Will.
The implication is that the Holy Spirit represents the Will of God, in the same way as Christ represents the Love of God.
Will vs Love
We have also established that Creation develops according to the Laws of God (ref. “Letter Of The Law“).
Therefore, the Laws of God must be the activity of the Holy Spirit.
God’s Will and God’s Love are one (ref. “Will vs Love: A Divine Quantum Entanglement“, et al).
So, Christ (The Word) and the Holy Spirit (The Law) are unified in Their working (ref. “Is His Love Blind?“):
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:
I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
— Matt 5:17
The Power To Sow vs Responsibility To Reap
Since we are part of Creation, spiritual abilities such as our free will must have been given to us through Divine Law.
We freely decide, but the final outcome is determined by the Divine Law of Sowing and Reaping (ref. “Creating Is Perpetual“, “Never Say Never“):
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged:
and with what measure ye mete,
it shall be measured to you again.
— Matt 7:1-2
Ignorance vs Sin
The harvest of our decision to follow Lucifer is spiritual ignorance (ref. “Fall Down And Worship Me!“).
Ignorance conditions us to ignore the Laws of Creation, guaranteeing spiritual damnation:
All manner of sin and blasphemy
shall be forgiven unto men:
but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost
shall not be forgiven unto men.
— Matt 12:31
Our behaviour is like an ignorant man “tempting gravity” by jumping off a steep cliff while demanding that the Creator protect him from physical harm. Such a man will not be “forgiven” i.e. the laws of gravity will not be repealed on his behalf; the law must be fulfilled.
In the same way that gravity is a material manifestation of the activity of the Holy Spirit (ref. “Creating Is Perpetual“) and is inescapable and automatic in the physical world, Divine Law is always inescapable because it is built into Creation.
Consequences vs Forgiveness
This does not contradict the existence of miracles (ref. “His Laws Are Miracles“. Neither does it deny the grace of forgiveness (ref. “Judging You, Judging Me“).
The Word brought spiritual knowledge to Earth. In The Word we have the opportunity of forgiveness.
It is a gift (ref. “Real Love Is Tough Love“), without which we would continue heading towards eternal damnation.
The Word is to be used diligently by each individual to free himself (ref. “Faith Is A Halfway House“). It does not offer a “get out of jail free” card or immunity from the Laws of God.
The statement that the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven establishes this most fundamental fact.
Christ stated this many times in different words, e.g.:
One jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
till all be fulfilled.
— Matt 5:18
Only the person who aligns with the Laws of God is free. Freedom comes through action in the sense of The Word, which brings experience (ref. “Faith Is A Halfway House“), which brings spiritual knowledge (ref. “Act To Experience To Know“), which makes alignment with the Will of the Holy Spirit (i.e. Divine Law) a natural and joyful activity.
Any valid concept of “born anew” must relate to spiritual freedom, which can only be achieved by obedience to Divine Law.
Today’s Resolution:
- We pray for the Lord’s guidance in opening ourselves to a new understanding of the Nature of the Holy Spirit.
